Walid Khan signed his contract this week at the team headquarters in Bischofswerda. The Dutchman with the black curly hair turns 23 the day after tomorrow. Although 700 kilometers separate his home in Veendam from the team’s base in Saxony, they stay in close contact.

“Walid is a racer who walks the line between genius and madness! He simply deserves another chance! Personally, I’m really happy for him. If we can help him manage his emotions even better, then anything is possible! He has the potential to fight for the podium in the World Championship as well,” says team boss Carsten Freudenberg about him. “We’ll be working on his consistency and want to show our confidence in him with this early contract extension. In recent years, we’ve been much later in finalizing things and could only commit shortly before the start of the season. Walid has proven time and again what he’s capable of, and I’m certain he’ll be in the running for the IDM title.”

Over the past two years, Khan has already proven that he can deliver victories for KTM. At the same time, 16-year-old newcomer Dustin Schneider will have a true team player by his side.
