In the Netherlands, Damen Motorcycle Apparel has long been a household name. Now, the brand from our neighboring country is taking the initiative in Germany as well and will become a partner of the International German Motorcycle Championship (IDM) in 2023.

When every millisecond counts in preventing serious injuries, it’s good to have a partner by your side you can rely on. Top riders like Rob Hartog, Ricardo Brink, and Pepijn Bijsterbosch, as well as Paul Fröde, Kamil Krzemien, Julian Puffe, and many other IDM riders, already rely on the custom-made leather suits from Damen Motorkleding, which are equipped with Alpinestars’ Tech Airbag system—proven in MotoGP. It protects the entire upper body.

To improve safety for all riders, airbags became mandatory in the Superbike, Supersport, and Supersport 300 classes in 2022. Only leather suits equipped with airbags or commercially available electronic airbag vests are permitted.

As a new IDM partner, Damen will be present at all race weekends starting in 2023 with a service truck where riders can get their gear fitted, have their airbag systems serviced, and have minor repairs done on the spot. Damen is an officially certified Tech Air Specialist & Service Center. The clothing specialist from the Netherlands is now strengthening the backbone of Germany’s premier motorcycle racing series and is also reaching out directly to IDM participants with introductory discounts.
