The grand finale at the Hockenheimring is crackling with excitement in the junior class. While the winners in the IDM Superbike and IDM Supersport classes have already been decided, it's all or nothing in the junior class as the battle for the championship title rages on. The 2022 IDM SSP 300 champion will only be decided this weekend. Only seven points separate Marvin Siebdrath and Leo Rammerstorfer. The latter currently leads the championship with 191 points.

With Dirk Geiger on pole and Marvin Siebdrath (both Füsport – RT Motorsports by SKM – Kawasaki) in second place, Kawasaki will start the final races with a one-two lead. While Geiger already dominated in Friday's free practice sessions, Siebdrath only managed to leapfrog his KTM rival on Saturday in the decisive qualifying sessions. In the final flying lap in Q2, the Wildenfelsen native snatched second place, relegating Rammerstorf to the starting position behind him. "That was important for us and our tactics for the races and an exciting finale," said Siebdrath, who narrowly lost the championship to Lennox Lehmann at Hockenheim last year. He finished as runner-up.

Leader Leo Rammerstorfer (Freudenberg KTM – Paligo Racing) finished qualifying in third place. But the Austrian was able to improve his times in the second practice session and is motivated going into the races. "I'm ready for the showdown," said the 18-year-old, who is aiming to secure a hat-trick of titles for the Orange team after two previous championship victories by his teammate Lennox Lehmann. So, the duel at this season finale in Hockenheim is not only Rammerstorfer against Siebdrath, but also Kawasaki against KTM.

Jorke Erwig (Kawasaki Weber Motos Racing) will start the race from fourth position, followed by Max Zachmann. KTM rider Walid Khan (Freudenberg KTM – Paligo Racing) completes the second row in sixth place, with teammate Scott Deroue in seventh.

Anyone who wants to follow the decision this weekend can watch the races live and free of charge via livestream at www.idm.de/live. The first race will take place this Saturday at 4:35 p.m., with the second race scheduled for Sunday at 1:30 p.m.
