In the IDM Supersport class, KTM came out on top this weekend. Following Leo Rammerstorfer’s (Freudenberg KTM – Paligo Racing) victory on Saturday, Lennox Lehmann (Freudenberg KTM – Paligo Racing) dominated the second race of the IDM Supersport at Schleiz on Sunday. He won with a comfortable one-second lead—just as he had envisioned. “That was actually my plan on Saturday, but it didn’t work out at all yesterday,” revealed the two-time IDM champion. However, he was unable to help his teammate Leo Rammerstorfer extend his lead in the standings during the second race. The Austrian struggled with technical issues on his bike, which is why he nearly went off the track into the grass after a battle with Troy Beinlich (Roto-Store BRT Vitori) for fourth place. Aside from a few extra meters and two lost positions, the excursion ended well for Rammerstorfer. However, the power seemed to be a distant prospect today, which is why he had to settle for sixth place.

Things went much better for Marvin Siebdrath (Füsport – RT Motorsports by SKM – Kawasaki). The second-place rider in the standings picked up important points this weekend in his quest for the championship title. It wasn’t easy for the Kawasaki rider, however, as Mate Szamado challenged him for second place in the second race. On the final lap, Siebdrath finally launched a perfectly timed attack that checkmated the Hungarian. “I watched Mate for a long time, looking for a good spot to pass him. This time, it was enough to hold on until the finish,” Siebdrath summed up. With a third- and a second-place finish, the 18-year-old earned a total of 36 crucial points for the championship this weekend. He has thus narrowed the gap to championship leader Leo Rammerstorfer to three points.

Even though Troy Beinlich would have liked to secure a podium finish on his home track, it was still a good weekend for the 19-year-old from Pößneck. After finishing fifth in the first race, he narrowly missed the podium on Sunday, coming in fourth. However, Beinlich heads home with 24 new points to his name, putting him in sixth place in the overall standings.

Dutch rider Thom Molenaar (Molenaar Racing) secured fifth place, proving once again that he belongs among the top 10 riders in the IDM SSP 300. Bryan Cohen (Füsport – RT Motorsports by SKM – Kawasaki) and Sven Doornenbal (Molenaar Racing) also had every reason to celebrate with seventh and eighth-place finishes. German rider Max Zachmann finished ninth, followed by Dutch rookie Nick Roelfsema (Team Apreco). Walid Khan (Freudenberg KTM – Paligo Racing) and Jorke Erwig (Kawasaki Weber Motos Racing) retired from the race early.
