He’s determined to make it happen, won’t give up, and is aiming to make the leap to the IDM Supersport . The 17-year-old Till Belczykowski will make a guest appearance at the Schleizer Dreieck this coming weekend.
The Duisburg native is no stranger to this environment. Last season, he was entered as a guest in what was then the Superstock class. He was actually supposed to register for the IDM Supersport afterward, but since he didn’t own a current Yamaha YZF-R6, Belczykowski’s team decided against going through with the plan.
That’s why the teenager will still be competing in series for amateur racers in 2022. He’ll also be competing in the Dutch Championship. His goal is—and remains—to move up to the IDM. “In Schleiz, I’ll be racing on my Yamaha R6 RJ15. It’s a few years old, but the races are still a good chance to find out where I currently stand in terms of my riding skills. I think it’ll also feel fantastic to be there in person at the most-attended event on the IDM calendar.”
