Season over for Bastian Ubl. The 21-year-old Yamaha rider from the MCA Racing Team had earned more than twice as many points in the first two IDM events as he did in all of last year, but that trend won't continue. An arm injury sustained at Most has sidelined him for the IDM race in Supersport , where he'll be watching from the stands.
Ubl rolled over six times in a crash during the first qualifying session at Most. As a result, the medial and lateral ligaments and the joint capsule in his right arm were severely damaged. “The doctor said he’d never seen anything like it,” Ubl said after the surgery. His recovery will take several months.
