Troy Alberto and the FÜSPORT–RT Motorsports by SKM–Kawasaki team are set to make IDM history this coming weekend in Most. The 21-year-old rider will become the first Filipino to make his debut in Germany’s top road racing series.

Now the IDM Supersport junior class also has its second World Championship rider on the grid. With Leon Haslam (Weber-Kawasaki) and Leandro Mercado (Holzhauer-Honda) competing in the premier Superbike class and the IDM Supersport welcoming Supersport Patrick Hobelsberger and Glenn Van Straalen, Troy Alberto is now another World Championship rider joining Lennox Lehmann in the smallest IDM class at Most.

Who is the Filipino? Alberto made just one World Championship appearance last year, but impressed so much that he will be able to compete in the full 2022 season with Team Füsport–RT Motorsports by SKM–Kawasaki. He has now scored his first point at Misano on the Kawasaki Ninja 400. “The IDM race in Most is very important for us because it allows him to prepare for the World Supersport taking place in Most at the end of July,” explains team boss Rob Venegoor. Alberto’s IDM teammates are Marvin Siebdrath, Oliver Svendsen, and Bryan Cohen. The 18-year-old Siebdrath is among the title favorites. The Wildenfels native is just two points behind the leader, Leo Rammerstorfer (KTM).
