Max Enderlein reist mit der höchstmöglichen Punkteausbeute vom IDM-Auftakt auf dem Lausitzring ab. Der 25-jährige Sachse aus Hohenstein-Ernstthal gewann auch das zweite Supersport-Rennen vor Thomas Gradinger.
Fourteen laps around the bumpy Lausitzring are no walk in the park. For Max Enderlein (MR32 Racing), however, they turned out to be a bit more relaxed. The usual head-to-head battle with Thomas Gradinger (Eder Racing) didn’t materialize this time, and in the end, 5.884 seconds separated the title favorites from Germany and Austria: a handshake after crossing the finish line. Enderlein, who now has 50 points in the championship standings, seemed relieved: “We were here testing last week, and when we arrived the day before yesterday, things got off to a good start right away. My best lap time of 1:41.2 in qualifying almost blew me away.”
Gradinger wirkte etwas zerknirscht. Der Meister von 2017, der anschließend in die Supersport-WM aufstieg, will unbedingt den nächsten Titel holen, der ihm zur Rückkehr in die WM verhelfen soll. „Wir hätten die Pace gehabt, wurden aber durch technische Probleme ausgebremst, für die niemand etwas kann“, gab der 25-jährige Yamaha-Fahrer zu Protokoll. „Beim Testen habe ich das Motorrad in die Botanik gestürzt, deshalb ist unser Ergebnis trotzdem viel wert.“
There was a fierce battle for third place between Andreas Kofler (Kawasaki Schnock Team Motorex), Luca de Vleeschauwer (Kawasaki Weber-Motos Racing), and Chris Beinlich (Roto-Store BRT). The trio couldn’t agree for a long time. In the end, Beinlich was the lucky one to jump onto the podium. Three more laps and he would have been right on Gradinger’s tail. The Pößneck native thus made up for his setback from the morning. In the first race, the 26-year-old from Thuringia had crashed while in third place.
