Lennox Lehmann from Dresden, the defending champion in the IDM Supersport , is moving up to the World Championship with the Freudenberg WorldSSP Team. And he has reason to celebrate. The DMSB and the ADAC Sports Foundation have joined forces to bring together promising young talents in the new Motorsport Team Germany. A total of 24 young drivers from ten motorsport disciplines have been accepted for the 2022 season.

In addition to financial support, they receive intensive training in various areas such as fitness, mental training, sponsorship, media, and vehicle technology, as well as discipline-specific squad training. “Combining the efforts of the previously independent support programs of the DMSB and the ADAC Sport Foundation not only creates clear and transparent structures but also gives this important area of work a new, additional dynamic,” says DMSB President Wolfgang Wagner-Sachs with confidence.

The current development squad includes the following disciplines: karting, formula racing, GT and touring car racing, rallying, autocross, motorcycle road racing, motocross, enduro, trial, and speedway. These up-and-coming motorsport talents, aged between 14 and 22, compete at the national level as well as in European and world championships.

Last season, 16-year-old KTM rider Lennox Lehmann secured four wins and five additional podium finishes in the IDM Supersport class. The rider, who has moved up to the World Championship, will continue to compete in IDM races as long as his schedule permits.
