The IDM event at the Motorsport Arena Oschersleben, originally planned for the first weekend in June 2022, has been brought forward by two weeks. The races in Magdeburger Börde will now take place from May 20 to 22, 2022. As the organizer and promoter of the IDM, Motor Presse Stuttgart has thus resolved the conflict with the FIM Endurance World Championship, which will be held at Spa-Francorchamps in Belgium over Pentecost. Several riders, especially from the IDM Superbike 1000, are also in demand in the Endurance World Championship and would have faced a difficult decision with their IDM teams in the event of a scheduling conflict.
"Postponing our event has taken a huge weight off our shoulders, meaning that drivers don't have to sit on the fence," says IDM series manager Normann Broy. "It's important to us to avoid conflicts like this so that drivers can compete in both championships without compromise. It's also a decision that promotes sporting fairness within the series." Normann Broy emphasizes: "Our good connections with Motorsport Arena Oschersleben and their willingness to accommodate us have of course helped us greatly in resolving the situation. We will continue to do everything we can to resolve scheduling conflicts constructively in the future."
