During Holy Week, Andreas Kofler, Sandro Furter, and Severin Bingisser put the finishing touches on their preparations for the IDM season opener, which will take place at the Lausitzring from April 30 to May 2, 2021. The three riders from the Kawasaki Schnock Team Motorex trained in Valencia and Barcelona to get in shape on the ZX-6R.

“It was a great week in Spain. We were able to try out a lot of things, and I personally spent a tremendous amount of time on the track,” reports Andreas Kofler. The 16-year-old Austrian from Attnang-Puchheim continues: “I immediately had a good feel for the bike. In Valencia, I was faster right away than I was last year.” Kofler hinted that the fact that the entire team speaks German also makes communication easier. His teammates Sandro Furter and Severin Bingisser, as well as technical director Roman Raschle, are from Switzerland. “It’s just much more relaxed when you can communicate about everything in your own language.”

Kofler knows he’ll face stiff competition in the IDM Supersport 600 class. He’ll soon find out where he stands. Last year, he competed in the Superstock 600 class, which is held as part of the Moto2 European Championship in Spain and Portugal. He scored one point at Motorland Aragón. Prior to that, he had competed in the European Talent Cup.
Sandro Furter and Severin Bingisser already raced for the Kawasaki Schnock Team Motorex in the IDM in 2020. Furter earned 13 championship points and Bingisser four.
