IDM registrations have begun. Whether Kevin Wahr will fill out the form remains to be seen. Although the 31-year-old Yamaha guest rider won both races in the IDM Supersport 600 at the 2020 Hockenheim finale, there is only a slim chance.
He has already come clean with the head of the Dutch MVR team, with whom he last competed. "I told Mart van Roj that he should plan without me," says Kevin Wahr. In September 2020, the Yamaha rider from Nagold celebrated a double victory in the IDM Supersport 600 practically out of the blue, making a convincing comeback at Hockenheim after a long absence. Nevertheless, Wahr is pondering: "I don't know if I can manage a whole season, or even if I want to. There's a time issue. I work in our family business and have a family of my own. My daughter is nine months old. When I have free time, there are other things I can do besides investing in racing."
Nevertheless, a hint of indecision can be detected. The 2013 Supersport 600 champion admits grudgingly: "The topic hasn't been completely shelved, but racing a full season is unrealistic."
