He shouldn’t be underestimated: Jeroen Hilster has learned a lot in his first year in the IDM Supersport 600 class. The Dutch rider will remain on the team in 2021. Text: Anke Wieczorek; Photo: Dino Eisele, Lentink Sports Racing

Lentink Sports Racing and Jeroen Hilster are continuing their partnership in the IDM Supersport 600. The contract has been signed. 2021 will mark Hilster’s second year in this highly competitive class, having finished the 2020 season in 14th place overall. Team principal Tristan Lentink was impressed by the progress made by the 19-year-old from Lieveren, Netherlands. The junior rider finished in the points at every race track. He secured a top-10 finish at both Assen and the Lausitzring. With this upward trend behind him, the partnership is therefore being extended.

With Tristan Lentink as his riding coach, Hilster won the Dutch championship in the ONK SuperCup 600 class in 2019. In 2020, Lentink founded his own team and signed Hilster and Victor Steeman as riders for the IDM Supersport 600. Steeman is no longer with the team. He has returned to the smaller 300cc class and is competing there in the World Championship.

Lentink Sports Racing races Yamaha YZF-R6 motorcycles. There are plans to have a second rider again. It has not yet been decided who that will be.
