In his final timed lap of the second qualifying session, Victor Steeman (20, NL, Lentink Sports) set the fastest time on his Yamaha. With a time of 1:36.351 minutes, the Dutch rider secured the pole position for the two final races in the IDM Supersport 600. As the fastest rider in the IDM Superstock 600, Paul Fröde (18, Hohenstein-Ernstthal, ADAC Sachsen e.V.) on a Honda qualified in 15th place overall.

Victor Steeman, the fastest rider in practice, snatched pole position at the last moment from his compatriot Milan Merckelbagh (19, NL, Bonovo Action by MGM Racing) on a Yamaha. Gabriel Noderer (23, Eysölden, Kawasaki Weber-Motos Racing) was the fastest Kawasaki rider and secured a spot on the front row.

Martin Vugrinec (21, CRO, Unior Racing) on a Yamaha will lead the second row of the grid; he is one of the three favorites to win the championship. In the overall standings, he trails Luca Grünwald (25, Waldkraiburg, Kawasaki Schnock Team Motorex) on a Kawasaki by just two points. The Bavarian will start sixth from the second row, but is already 3.5 seconds behind Steeman, who set the fastest time in practice. Between the two title contenders, Kevin Wahr (31, Nagold, MVR Racing) on a Yamaha will take the starting grid.

The title race in the IDM Supersport 600 promises to be particularly thrilling. Only two points separate the top three riders in the championship. But it will be tough at Hockenheim for defending champion Max Enderlein (23, Hohenstein-Ernstthal, Freudenberg SMC WorldSSP Academy) on Yamaha, who is in third place heading into the final two races. The two-time champion will start from 13th place, putting him on the fifth row.

Qualifying isn't going as planned for Enderlein's teammate Jan-Ole Jähnig (19, Altenburg, Freudenberg SMC WorldSSP Academy) either. In the IDM Superstock 600 class, the current second-place rider in the championship is only in fourth place.

The first race of the IDM Supersport/Superstock 600 series will start tomorrow (September 27) at 10:40 a.m.
