In the first qualifying session of the IDM Supersport 300 at the season finale in Hockenheim, Rick Dunnik (18, NL, Zuwi HD-Racing) on a Yamaha confirmed his strong form. The Dutch rider, who leads the championship by 15 points, is in provisional pole position with a fastest lap time of 1:37.972 minutes. Marvin Siebdrath (Wildenfels, 16, RT Motorsports by SKM-Kawasaki) on a Kawasaki follows 0.167 seconds behind.

Siebdrath leads the fast trio from Rob Vennegoor and Frank Krekeler’s team in second place. Behind him is his teammate Colin Velthuizen (16, NL). The fourth-place driver in the championship thus completes the front row for now. Behind him is Luca de Vleeschauwer (18, B, both RT Motorsports by SKM-Kawasaki). Rick Dunnik’s closest rival in the championship is 0.691 seconds behind his compatriot’s fastest lap time.

Behind de Vleeschauwer are his teammate Harry Khouri (16, AUS, Benjan Racing Team) on a Kawasaki and Ruben Bijman (16, NL, Pearle Gebben Racing) on a Yamaha. The fastest KTM riders are only able to place behind Melvin van der Voort (15, NL, Team SWPN) on a Yamaha. Junior World Championship rider Dirk Geiger (18, Mannheim) sits ahead of Lennox Lehmann (14, Dresden, both Freudenberg SMC WorldSSP Academy) on KTM after the first qualifying session. Lehmann, who is fifth in the IDM overall standings, has thus not yet been able to repeat his strong performance from the Lausitzring.
