IDM Supersport 600
Those who succeed in the IDM Supersport 600 have the potential to take the next step. Former title winner Jörg Teuchert even became Supersport World Champion in 2000. The IDM Supersport 600 is the proven middle class in Germany's highest series in motorcycle road racing. With around 135 hp at the rear wheel, riders reach top speeds of around 270 km/h on their motorcycles. For IDM use, Honda, Kawasaki, Suzuki, and Yamaha production bikes may be fitted with racing fairings and a completely different exhaust system.
Modifications to the fork and shock absorber are also permitted. For the finer details, a kit electronics system from the respective motorcycle manufacturer may be used. Kit control units, cartridges, large radiators, and much more are permitted. Unlike in the World Championship, blippers are also allowed. The IDM organization does not want to prohibit participants from using what every hobby racer already has. As with the big Superbikes, data recording is permitted for the 600s. The IDM Supersport is dominated by the Yamaha R6, the latest machine in the field. Nevertheless, various Kawasakis and Hondas repeatedly manage to give the blue faction a run for their money.
Saxon Max Enderlein will attempt to defend his title on Yamaha again in 2020.

IDM Superstock 600
The approximately 130 hp motorcycles in the Superstock 600 class are all well known and are usually pushed to the limit within the applicable rules. The class has been upgraded this year. The previous cup has been awarded IDM status. However, many former Yamaha R6 Cup riders have found a new home in the Superstock 600 class after their series was discontinued. Their desire to continue racing in the familiar IDM environment was unmistakable.
Of course, models from other IDM pool brands are also permitted, such as the Honda CBR 600 RR, Kawasaki ZX-6R, or Suzuki GSX-R 600. Compared to the IDM Supersport 600, less modification is allowed on Superstock motorcycles. Riders must make do with original ECUs, normal radiators, and no cartridges.
The IDM Supersport 600 and IDM Superstock 600 start in the same field, but with separate scoring. They are very easy to distinguish externally. The IDM Supersport 600 riders race with blue start numbers on a white background, while the IDM Superstock 600 participants race with white numbers on a blue background.
