Given the current situation regarding the coronavirus pandemic, it is highly unlikely that the International German Motorcycle Championship (IDM) will kick off its season from May 22 to 24, 2020, at the Red Bull Ring in Austria. In response, Motor Presse Stuttgart, the series promoter, has canceled the planned season opener featuring all IDM categories in Styria. “Under different circumstances, we would have loved to open our season with all IDM starting grids and partner series at the Red Bull Ring, but we have to act now,” says IDM Series Manager Normann Broy. “There is no timeline for the coronavirus crisis, nor is there one for hosting the IDM in this situation.”

However, Motor Presse Stuttgart continues to work tirelessly to organize the best possible IDM season in 2020, with the remaining rounds scheduled to begin in June. In doing so, the directives and recommendations of government agencies must be followed. For the IDM organization, responsibility and care for all those involved are just as much a priority as ensuring fair competition for the championships in the individual classes. The IDM organization is in regular contact with the teams and riders, all partner companies, the track operators, the event organizers, and the authorities.
