Everything is set for the new season. The regulations for all IDM classes are now available. They can be downloaded at www.dmsb.de/active/motorradsport/strassensport/.
Just two weeks after the World Championship regulations were announced, the IDM organizers at Motor Presse Stuttgart GmbH & Co. KG have succeeded in coordinating the corresponding national regulations with their pool partners. As expected, there are minor adjustments for 2020.
In the IDM Superbike 1000 class, carbon fiber fairings may now be used following the onboarding of a series partner that manufactures them. In the IDM Supersport / Superstock 600 classes, brake cooling systems similar to those used in Superbikes are now permitted. In the junior class, IDM Supersport , a limit of three engines per season is being introduced.
“The IDM regulations will continue to be based on the World Championship guidelines,” explains IDM Technical Director Karsten Bartschat. “We want to allow participants from both championships to make guest appearances in the other series without having to completely rebuild their motorcycles.”
