The provisional dates for the 2020 International German Motorcycle Championship (IDM) were announced at the season finale in Hockenheim. “We had our schedule for next year all but finalized, but then a few last-minute changes came up,” says series manager Normann Broy. “But we aim to have our 2020 calendar finalized within the next three weeks.” Motor Presse Stuttgart, as the series’ organizer and promoter, aims to provide all IDM stakeholders with a solid foundation for the upcoming season as soon as possible.

The German Speedweek in Oschersleben from June 3 to 6, 2020, is definitely on the schedule, the IDM Superbike 1000 event at the Nürburgring during the Truck Grand Prix, the season highlight in Schleiz from July 24 to 26, 2020, and the IDM weekend in Most from August 14 to 16, 2020.
The dates for the IDM season opener and the IDM finale are still to be determined. “Our priority is the quality of the tracks and events, which is why we’re taking our time,” said Normann Broy. “Our clear goal is to continue the IDM’s positive trend.”

The current GP circuit in Assen, the “Cathedral of Motorsport,” will definitely be part of the IDM calendar again. There are options for new circuits such as the Sachsenring or the Red Bull Ring in Austria. “We want to offer circuits that are particularly appealing for motorcycles,” said Broy. It is also certain that the Belgian circuit in Zolder will not be included in the 2020 IDM calendar.
