Because the IDM junior class— Supersport —was not represented on the grid at Zolder, Belgium, in June 2019 due to age restrictions, the smallest IDM category will compete from August 16 to 18, 2019, as part of the Gamma Racing Day in Assen. It is the largest combined event featuring motorcycle, auto, and kart racing in Europe.

Motor Presse Stuttgart, as the IDM organizer and promoter, has pulled out all the stops to include the junior class in this event, and Reiner Lippold from MSC Schleiz has traveled to the Netherlands to serve as race director in support of the event. Two races will be held at Assen. Participants can expect the usual program, including the grand starting ceremony before the races. The first race will take place on Sunday, August 18, 2019, at 10:25 a.m. The second will take place at 5:22 p.m.

All practice sessions, as well as the race results, can be followed via live timing at www.raceresults.nu .

The IDM Supersport 300 has become a hit among young riders, featuring thrilling battles right down to the finish line. The field is highly competitive, and the skill level of the riders from across Europe is equally high. Belgian rider Angelo Licciardi (Kawasaki) traveled to Assen as the overall championship leader with 147 points. Rick Dunnik (Kawasaki) from the Netherlands is in second place (126). Czech rider David Kuban (KTM) is in third place in the overall standings with 101 points, tied with Colin Velthuizen (Yamaha). Both Dunnik and his compatriot Velthuizen are under close scrutiny from spectators on their home track. Toni Erhard (KTM) is the top German rider in fifth place.

Nearly 100,000 visitors are expected at the TT Circuit for Gamma Racing Day, which actually spans three days. They can look forward to a field of 36 young drivers in total. Scott Deroue, Dion Otten, Robert Schootman, and Jeffrey Buis have registered as guest drivers who will compete outside the official standings.
