At the IDM finale in Hockenheim, Austrian rider Marco Nekvasil rode the Alber-Bischoff Suzuki. It was his second appearance as a guest rider for the team, which was suffering from an acute shortage of riders following financial difficulties and the departure of Janusch Prokop. Due to a lingering injury, Nekvasil had focused on the World Endurance Championship and Ducati in recent years, but his return to the IDM now showed promise for further improvement. He closed the gap to the leaders in every session.

Nekvasil finished the first race in 14th place. The start went awry, and then Jan Mohr crashed right in front of him, so any chance of catching up to the leaders was gone. In the second race, Nekvasil brought the GSX-R 1000 across the finish line in tenth place. After his accident two years ago and the long recovery period, the 21-year-old has seen the light. He is happy to be back competing in sprint races and that people still remember him. He would prefer to stay with Team Suzuki Alber-Bischoff and in the IDM Superbike 1000 . Team boss Evrén Bischoff has not yet commented.
