Two wins for Bennie Streuer/Gerard Daalhuizen ( LCR F1 Suzuki) at the Lausitzring. The Dutch duo couldn’t have done more to defend their title. They now hold a 30-point lead over the second-place team of Josef Sattler/Uwe Neubert ( Adolf RS 1 F1 BMW). But the two aren’t sure if that will be enough. Streuer will sit out the next IDM race in Assen due to a scheduling conflict with the World Championship. After the second race at the Lausitzring, the same riders stood on the podium as after the first race—except that this time, André Kretzer and Björn Bosch ( LCR F1 Suzuki) finished third.
Mike Roscher and Anna Burkard had a strange interlude. Roscher uses an electronic throttle; the connector was probably broken, because suddenly nothing worked anymore. Roscher still managed to make it to the pit lane. There, he restarted the BMW, and it worked again. They were still able to score four IDM points.
