Pole position for Jan-Ole Jähnig of the Freudenberg WorldSSP Team. In the second qualifying session, the KTM rider from Thuringia edged out his teammate Max Kappler for the top spot. Kappler even slipped back to third on the grid because IDM Supersport leader Victor Steeman ( Multi Tracker Racing) also beat his time. However, as the third-fastest rider in practice, Kappler will still start from the front row.

The Freudenberg WorldSSP Team is already testing in Schleiz in preparation for the final two World Championship rounds, which will take place in September at Portimão and Magny-Cours, as team boss Michael Freudenberg explains. “We’re still trying out a few things on the KTM’s suspension. Jan-Ole is currently four seconds faster here in Schleiz than he was last year.” In 2017, Jähnig rode a Yamaha and became the IDM Supersport 300 champion.
