Aside from the pending proceedings stemming from the Zolder disqualification, things are going like clockwork for Josef Sattler and Uwe Neubert in the IDM Sidecar series. The team secured pole position with their Adolf RS F1 BMW at the Schleizer Dreieck. The duo improved with every practice session. And the team even set the fastest time on used tires. “In terms of speed, we’re just as strong in Schleiz as we were in Zolder,” says Josef “Sepp” Sattler.
The AKW-Kretzer Racing Team is in second place on the grid, 0.318 seconds behind. Defending champions Bennie Streuer and Gerard Daalhuizen from the Netherlands are in third place, already two seconds behind, but the real battle begins during the race. And that’s when Streuer really hits his stride.
