Prize money pool for the winners of the 2018 IDM

With just under four weeks to go before the start of the International German Motorcycle Championship (IDM) season in Oschersleben (April 27–29), Motor Presse Stuttgart has announced the introduction of prize money for the top finishers in each championship race. © Photo: Dino Eisele

In the 2018 season, the Stuttgart-based media company will award cash prizes to the top three finishers in the three IDM classes—Superbike 1000, Supersport 600, and Supersport 300—as well as in the DMSB Cup for Superstock 600, in addition to trophies. “For many years, there was no prize money at all from the series organizer, so we are making a statement with this to mark the relaunch of the IDM with the Motor Presse Stuttgart as the promoter,” emphasizes Matthias Schröter, head of the MOTORRAD action team, which handles the organizing role at the race tracks.

Here are the prize amounts

Motor Presse Stuttgart is kicking off its first season as both promoter and organizer of Germany’s top motorcycle racing series with great enthusiasm and optimism. “The current status of entries—specifically the registration of sidecars and the major manufacturer cups in the series—also gives us cause for confidence just before the start of the IDM season in Oschersleben,” said Schröter.
