Even faster, even tighter, even more exciting. The new EURO MOTO kicks off from May 8–10, 2026, making its debut at the historic Sachsenring. The fact that it’s starting on the Grand Prix circuit alone sends a clear message. As usual, the races at Germany’s motorcycle mecca will feature a number of local riders at the starting line. And since Sunday is Mother’s Day, every mom will receive a very special kind of treat. The gift is an unforgettable experience.

The new EURO MOTO brand at the Sachsenring marks the beginning of a new era in European motorcycle racing. It represents a significant evolution of the former International German Motorcycle Championship (IDM). As the promoter, Motor Presse Stuttgart aims to establish the most attractive racing series in Europe—setting new standards, bringing fresh energy, and demonstrating maximum passion for the sport. EURO MOTO is a step into the future for teams, riders, sponsors, and fans.

Action, thrills, and a great atmosphere both on and off the track—that’s why thousands of spectators flock to the Sachsenring. As Germany’s top motorcycle racing class, the EURO MOTO Superbike delivers exactly that. Riders like defending champion Lukas Tulovic (Ducati), Florian Alt (Honda), Markus Reiterberger (BMW), and Twan Smits (Yamaha) push their bikes to the absolute limit for their respective manufacturers. With over 200 horsepower and speeds exceeding 300 km/h, they provide moments that give you goosebumps. About ten riders have a shot at a podium finish, and the tension is immense as to which of them will be the first to enter the first corner and who will ultimately be the first to cross the finish line.

Right in the thick of it is Team GERT56 by RS Speedbikes from Pirna, Saxony, which has reorganized itself following the death of its team boss and is entering the fray with three top-tier riders. Marcel Schrötter, who most recently competed in the Supersport World Championship, is also a media sensation. Toni Finsterbusch and Jan-Ole Jähnig, both of whom hail from the Sachsenring area, are a perfect fit for the EURO MOTO Superbike class. Will “Fibu” finally manage to secure his first victory in the class this year? He’s long been a fan favorite, but he also wants to actually win at least once.

In the slightly smaller Supersport class, Lennox Lehmann from Dresden is competing for the title. The 20-year-old has two goals: to secure podium finishes and to kick off the triumphant run of the new Yamaha YZF-R9, which has already enjoyed great success in the World Championship. Together with his teammate from Hesse, Dirk Geiger, he aims to defeat the competition on Ducati, Kawasaki, Honda, Triumph, and MV Agusta in the EURO MOTO. The rivals hail from six countries, with four alone coming from neighboring Czechia.

The sportbike class, introduced just a year ago, is experiencing a veritable boom. It features motorcycles such as the Triumph Daytona 660, Aprilia RS 660, Kawasaki ZX-6R 636, and Yamaha YZF-R7. Racing at the top level is available here starting at age 15. The smallest EURO MOTO class has the largest field of riders this year. It is considered the ideal preparation for a future entry into the World Championship. Making a name for himself in this cutthroat competition is the plan for Mika Siebdrath from Wildenfels—following in the footsteps of his older brother Marvin, who races in the Supersport class. Schnitzel fan Mika is 17 years old and can hardly wait for his debut at the Sachsenring. Behind him stands the renowned Team Freudenberg PALIGO Racing from Bischofswerda.

EURO MOTO at the Sachsenring—a celebration of speed and excitement, brought to life by the fans. The Kawasaki ZX-6R Cup, the ADAC Junior Cup, and the Moto4 Northern Cup add some extra spice to the premier classes. The race weekend offers a packed schedule of top-notch motorsports action.

A chocolate for all mothers

Sunday brings a special highlight: Mother’s Day. EURO MOTO says thank you—with a “treat” of a special kind. All mothers receive free admission, including access to the paddock and the Fan Walk. Mother’s Day means not just watching, but being right in the thick of it. It’s a gift that combines experience and emotion. Children and teens under 14 also get free admission.
EURO MOTO at the Sachsenring—it’s not just racing. It’s a promise. To the future. To the thrill. And to everyone who wants to feel it.
