After winning the championship title with Iñigo Iglesias Bravo in the Sportbike class, Rob Vennegoor hopes to guide two new riders into this career. The Dutch team owner of RT Motorsports has brought in two new candidates for the start of the new EURO MOTO: Hudson Thompson from Australia and Tom Kuil from the Netherlands.
By winning the Sportbike class title, Iñigo Iglesias Bravo has set the bar high. After three seasons and numerous successes with RT Motorsports, the Spaniard announced his departure at the end of the year. In addition to Iglesias' departure, sponsor Wematik also announced that it would be stepping back and no longer acting as title sponsor. The situation was not easy for team owners Rob Vennegoor and Gerald Lekkerkerker. But the racing hearts of the two compatriots decided: it's business as usual.
A rich harvest in the land of kangaroos
In 2026, the team will once again compete in the EURO MOTO Sportbike Championship with the Triumph Daytona 660. Vennegoor is breaking his own record with the signing of 16-year-old Australian Hudson. He is now the 24th rider he has brought to Europe. Like his better-known older brother Carter Thompson, the young Aussie from Buff Point took his first steps in the Motostars Championship, the R3 Cup, and the ASBK SSP300 Championship. He already has his first victories under his belt. Vennegoor attests to his great natural speed and enormous ambition.
17-year-old Tom Kuil from Groningen rose through various youth classes to reach the Northern Talent Cup. An injury set him back for a long time, but at the NTC race weekend at the Nürburgring last September, Kuil once again demonstrated his class as the fastest Dutch rider.
