Lukas Tulovic leads the IDM Superbike championship standings and aims to win the title on a Ducati. However, his chances of advancing to the Superbike World Championship have since dimmed. Still, the 25-year-old wants to treat himself to a sense of accomplishment. On Sunday, September 21, 2025, he will attempt to complete the 41st Baden Marathon in Karlsruhe.

Tulovic is ready for the IDM finale at Hockenheim. After the races at the Nürburgring, he worked as an instructor at the Hafeneger training sessions. He then took part in a Ducati event in Oschersleben and served as a Sky commentator for MotoGP at the studio in Munich.

Tulovic leads the IDM Superbike standings with a 41-point lead over Florian Alt. Just nine more points, and the rider from Baden-Württemberg will have the title in the bag. “That’s what he’s here for,” Matthias Moser, team manager of Triple M Racing Ducati Frankfurt, had already said at the start of the season. Tulo joined him at the end of July at the Superbike World Championship at the Balatonring to see what might come next. The move to the World Championship would be a logical next step. “At Most, I was 1.5 seconds behind the fastest time from the Superpole in the World Championship during qualifying,” says Tulovic, who has now secured seven victories on the Ducati Panigale V4R, some by a commanding margin. Moser would certainly be willing to support Tulovic’s career in the World Championship as well. In his view, Tulovic is one of the fastest riders out there. He also sees an advantage in the fact that Tulovic is still young.

But things aren't going as expected. “Right now, I don't expect to be racing in the Superbike World Championship in 2026,” Tulovic says, adding, “It looks like my performance wasn't good enough. It's not up to me now to decide what happens next.” The hope that another opportunity might still arise hasn't faded.

Tulovic is in great shape. On September 21, he’ll run the first official half marathon of his life. The distance is exactly 21.0975 kilometers, which is half the distance of a marathon. According to Tulovic, about 8,000 participants are expected. “I’ve run that distance before for training, but never in an actual race. My Achilles tendon or meniscus always threw a wrench in my plans. But now I’m in top shape, so I’m going to give it a try.”
