The Skach Motors Kawasaki Racing team and rider Martin Vugrinec have ended their partnership effective immediately.
The decision was made at the initiative of team manager Oliver Skach. It was prompted by differing views on the team’s overall sporting direction, as well as irreconcilable differences that made it impossible to continue competing in the IDM Superbike series.
“It’s a shame that we find ourselves in this situation. After a year and a half in the series, we’ve seen an upward trend in our results, but under the current circumstances, we won’t be able to continue that trend together,” said team manager Oliver Skach.
Skach Motors Kawasaki Racing is now looking ahead and focusing on the tasks ahead and the two remaining IDM events at the Nürburgring and Hockenheim. The team will announce details about its future driver lineup shortly.
Vugrinec announced the split to his followers on Instagram. The post reads, in part: “We parted ways on friendly terms, and it was a very difficult decision for me, but ultimately, I saw no reason to believe I had a future in this project. Every time I walked into the pit and got on the motorcycle, I really gave it my all. It’s a shame that things didn’t work out the way we had imagined.”
