The Concession Parts are sitting untested in the Honda box, and that’s probably where they’ll stay. Florian Alt went into the summer break as the IDM Superbike championship leader, but he’ll have to step it up. At least that’s what HRP team boss Jens Holzhauer is hoping.
Three points separate Flo Alt from his closest rival, Lukas Tulovic. After Tulovic’s dominant performance at Oschersleben—where he won the first race by 3.916 seconds and the second by 4.227 seconds—it’s only a matter of time before the rider from Baden-Württemberg takes the lead in the standings, according to Jens Holzhauer. “Ducati is unbeatable, at least not on our own,” he says matter-of-factly, “it’s just like it was 14 years ago with KTM. No one could touch them.”
Holzhauer had actually planned to use Concession Parts on the Honda CBR 1000 RR-R after the summer break to give Alt even more of a boost. This includes the much-discussed triple clamp. In addition, the bike was supposed to be fitted with different rims—specifically, the World Championship wheels that Toprak Razgatlioglu uses in the Superbike World Championship. “But we didn’t get anything done. It’s vacation time. Two employees have been out sick for quite a while. What we did was completely clear out the truck, turn everything upside down, and clean the rims.”
That doesn’t sound like much progress. “We’ll have to come up with something,” Holzhauer shrugs, “we’ll have to see if Flo can chip in a little more. I still have a few ideas.” The Wittenberg native wouldn’t be himself if he didn’t have any more ideas. For example: “We have a few things that have never been worked on. There are still parts from back when Alex Polita was on our team—like a different lever system.”
The next round of the IDM will take place in Assen from August 15 to 17, 2025. Before that, the HRP team will be testing at Hockenheim with Florian Alt. Maybe they can achieve more than expected after all.
