The International German Motorcycle Championship will hold its next races in Most, Czech Republic, in a week and a half. At the third round of the IDM season, Spanish rider Iñigo Iglesias will be competing for a different team for the third time. He is now set to remain permanently with Wematik Racing by RT Motorsports in the Sportbike class.
Iglesias has had a turbulent time. He parted ways with Supersport after the season opener in Oschersleben. He then scored a one-two finish as a substitute rider in the new Sportbike class at the Schleizer Dreieck. The 23-year-old Spaniard was torn. His team manager, Rob Vennegoor, now wants to settle the matter. Under his leadership, the Dutchman is bringing the Wematik Racing by RT Motorsports team to the starting grid. The partnership with sponsor Wematik, which has been on board from the start, forms the foundation for Vennegoor’s new adventure. The team is relying on a Triumph Daytona 660 professionally prepared by PHR Performance. Behind this effort is 14-time TT winner Peter Hickman.
Iñigo Iglesias is taking on this challenge with the clear goal of moving up to the new WorldSBK Sportbike class in 2026. This class will replace the Supersport . Since the IDM will already be featuring the Sportbike class a year earlier, this provides the ideal conditions for preparing for future races in the World Superbike Championship.

Iglesias and Vennegoor have long enjoyed a successful partnership: Together, they
won the 2023 IDM Supersport title. During his successful season, Iglesias missed the podium in only two races. He secured four wins, four second-place finishes, and three third-place finishes, amassing 261 points and winning the championship by a margin of 60 points. He also achieved numerous successes in the WorldSSP300: three wins and ten podium finishes.
Ahead of the races in Most, the team will hold a test day next Monday at Cadwell Park in England, which is just ten minutes away from “Hicky’s” company.
