A man of his word. MCA Racing team boss Stefan Schmidt has given IDM Supersport Dirk Geiger his verbal commitment that they will race together in the 2025 season. Schmidt’s son, Julius Caesar Rörig, is also set to continue in the class. But that’s not all. More competition is joining the team. It’s doubling in size.

“Dirk has had the contract ready to sign for quite some time,” says Stefan Schmidt regarding the 22-year-old Mannheim native’s contract extension, adding, “He’ll sign it either at the championship ceremony this coming weekend in Stuttgart or right after.” For Geiger, there is only one goal for 2025: he is determined to win the championship title. After his five podium finishes on the Honda CBR 600 RR last season, including the crowning race victory in the finale, nothing else is an option.

To allow him to focus entirely on his racing, Geiger is employed by a sponsor in Bavaria. That’s why the native of Hesse moved to the town of Peiting, which is just over an hour’s drive from Munich. His employer runs a bus company in Upper Bavaria and also develops pit bikes. Geiger works in the office and serves as a jack-of-all-trades. When it comes to the sport, he enjoys complete freedom. “Of course, that makes everything much more relaxed, and because of the location, I can also get to the race tracks faster when I go to train.”

The only thing still holding the newcomer back is his social circle. “I go to the gym all the time, but I don’t know anyone here yet—something’s got to change.” To make matters worse, his buddy Lennox Lehmann, with whom he usually likes to game on the computer, is unfortunately in Spain right now. Geiger is heading there in December, though, “and there’s always someone there you know.”

The official MCA Racing team tests will take place in January and March in the warm south. That’s when things will get serious for Julius Caesar Rörig. He’s been given a clear directive: he must finish in the top ten at the very least. Especially since there shouldn’t be any more obstacles for the 18-year-old. After all, he no longer has to deal with the stress of high school graduation or moving. Those days are behind him. Stefan Schmidt and his team, which is also tasked with moving Honda further up the ranks in the manufacturer’s championship, will provide the riders with completely rebuilt motorcycles. This also applies to the third CBR 600 RR rider, whom Schmidt has announced and who is definitely coming. The fourth man in the lineup will be Dominik Blersch, though he’ll be competing in the Pro Superstock Cup, where he finished third overall in 2024. The 26-year-old is switching from BMW to the Honda CBR 1000 RR-R.
