Harry Payne and Kevin Rousseau (Steinhausen Racing) were crowned the new world champions in the FIM Superside World Championship this weekend. They won the thrilling races at the Circuito do Estoril ahead of Markus Schlosser/Luca Schmidt (Guistol Sidecar Racing), thereby overtaking the German-speaking duo in the overall standings. There was an aftermath for the team of Tim Reeves and Mark Wilkes (Carl Cox Motorsport), who finished third in the main race.

Late in the evening, the 2019 world champions were disqualified. The reason was a non-compliant generator in their vehicle. For 52-year-old Reeves, who is expecting his second child in December, this was the second setback on race Sunday. Earlier in the sprint race, the Brit had been battling for third place with Sam Christie/Tom Christie (Team Hannafin) and Pekka Päivärinta/Adam Christie (Hänni Racing)—until he was forced to retire due to a lost handlebar grip.
Pekka Päivärinta/Adam Christie moved up to third place in the main race following Reeves’ disqualification.
