After five race weekends, the IDM Sidecar Championship came to a close with the Sidecar Festival in Oschersleben. The champions—Ted and Vincent Peugeot (Seventy Four Racing Team/LCR Yamaha)—had already been crowned back in August at Assen. With a total of 214 points, the father-son team triumphed, winning six of the ten races. “It was a good year for us. Unlike last season, we didn’t have any retirements,” Ted Peugeot said, looking back on the past season with satisfaction. His father and passenger was also delighted with the success and is now looking forward to the off-season with a few quieter weekends ahead.

Lukas Wyssen and his young passenger Ema Salmon (Team Gustoil Sidecar Racing/LCR Yamaha) secured the runner-up title with a one-two finish. “An absolutely great result, considering we can’t count three races,” says the Swiss rider. The team wasn’t even present in Schleiz, and the second race in Assen ended prematurely for them. With the runner-up title in the bag and one more World Championship round to go, Wyssen is already thinking about next season. “If possible, we’ll compete in the IDM and the World Championship again,” explains Wyssen, who wants to continue working with Ema Salmon. “She’s a really good passenger, and if she joins us again, nothing stands in the way of our plans for next season,” he adds. However, details will only be finalized after the World Championship finale in November at Estoril.
Wearing a new design reminiscent of the familiar colors of his grandfather Uwe Göttlich, Lennard Göttlich and Lucas Krieg (Bonovo Action Junior-Team ADAC Sachsen e.V./ARS Yamaha) finished their first season together in third place overall in the IDM. They were seen racing in green and gold this weekend in Oschersleben, sporting new leather suits. They are still without a sponsor’s name, as their partnership with their sponsor Bonovo Action—which is withdrawing from motorsports at the end of the year—has ended. “After our crash in Assen, our fairing was damaged anyway, so it just made sense for us to switch to our new design early,” Lennard Göttlich explained the new styling. Although the year was anything but smooth for the two young riders—who had to endure many disappointments and setbacks—they plan to continue next year. “Yes, I definitely want to continue, but we don’t have any concrete plans yet,” said the 19-year-old. The search for additional sponsors is important for their planning. Everything else will also be decided after the World Championship finale. They are currently in tenth place in the overall standings.
