All of Ducati’s hopes at the Schleizer Dreieck rest on Marc Moser. He’s racing the most beautiful—and only—Panigale V4 in the IDM Superbike series at the races currently taking place. All of his other teammates from the Superbike class are injured. The Hertrampf Racing team is dealing with a complete loss of riders.
Early this week, bad news reached Triple M Racing Ducati Frankfurt: Lorenzo Zanetti, who finished third in the IDM, crashed during a test at Misano for his employer, Ducati. The result: a broken left collarbone. What initially looked like a minor injury turned out to be far more serious at the hospital. It is not a clean break. Zanetti had to undergo surgery due to the numerous fragments and had several screws inserted. However, the Italian believes he will be able to return at Assen.
Marc Moser has to race on his own now. “It’s more fun with a teammate,” the rider from Hesse admits, “but now I’m missing the back-and-forth about the electronics and the whole bike. I’ll be happy when Lorenzo is back.” If he returns later, there will be a substitute rider next time.

At Hertrampf Racing Team Ducati, neither rider is even fit to race. Vladimir Leonov is having a disastrous year. He was unable to travel to the season opener because he didn’t have a visa. Then he was injured during practice sessions at the Moscow Raceway, and now he’s crashed again. The result: a broken wrist. He’s lucky nothing worse happened, as he was thrown from the motorcycle while traveling at 200. Leonov had to undergo surgery. When the IDM visits Assen in mid-August, the metal pins will be removed. His teammate Oliver König from the Czech Republic is currently in the hospital and is working on his fitness so he can compete in the Netherlands.
