An IDM team claims to be one of the first racing teams in the world to operate entirely carbon-neutral. It is RR SOCIA Racing from the Netherlands, for which Colin Velthuizen and Björn Stuppi compete in the Superbike class. This is made possible by a partnership with Brainchild Commodity Intelligence (BCI), a specialist in energy and emissions trading.

BCI is a specialist in the field of energy and emissions trading, including CO2 emissions trading for European companies. Trading in greenhouse gas emission allowances encourages companies to invest in sustainability as a means of combating climate change.

Both sides benefit from the partnership. “The support of our main sponsor, SOCIA—a partner for ICT products and services—is the driving force behind our BMW team. With input from BCI, we’re reaching new heights in yet another way,” says team manager Nelson Rolfes. Company owner Wouter Alblas believes that motorsports is at risk in the long term without initiatives like those from BCI.
