“Attack” – that’s the motto for both Kawasaki and KTM this IDM weekend in Assen. For the Freudenberg KTM – Paligo Racing team, the goal is to extend Leo Rammerstorfer’s lead; for Füsport – RT Motorsports by SKM – Kawasaki, the goal is to take the lead with Marvin Siebdrath. Only three points separate the two rivals. And the second half of the season is in full swing.

Both teams are bringing in extra reinforcements for the race in Assen. KTM has bolstered its lineup with experienced Dutch racer Scott Deroue, while Kawasaki has added World Championship rider Dirk Geiger to its roster. And both are ready to give it their all.

KTM’s star rider Scott Deroue will start the race from second place, followed by Lennox Lehmann, who has also pledged his full support to his best friend Leo Rammerstorfer. But Rammerstorfer is struggling this weekend. Commenting on his eighth-place starting position, he says, “It’s frustrating that qualifying didn’t go as well as I’d hoped.” The young Austrian is known in the paddock for his cheerful disposition—but after qualifying, his smile isn’t quite as broad as usual. No wonder, because a potential change in the lead is in the air this weekend—and Rammerstorfer senses it too. “Yes, I feel a bit stressed,” he admits, trying to distract himself with teammate Lennox Lehmann until the first race. Will he manage to shake off the pressure during the races?

Sandwiched between the orange and green lines, Spaniard Juan Antonio Conesa (MTM Kawasaki) will start from fourth place. The 15-year-old, who comes from the Spanish Championship and is competing in the IDM for the first time as a guest rider, has no stake in the championship. He simply wants to gain experience and compete against international riders in the IDM. Will he be able to disrupt the battle between Kawasaki and KTM?
