New Superbike rider Gabriel Noderer has earned his full motorcycle license and can now ride unrestricted on the road. The 25-year-old BMW S 1000 RR rider from the Kiefer Racing Team had to make some major adjustments during the test.

“I had to take a driving lesson to be eligible for the test. I already had my moped license. Still, it wasn’t that easy. You’re supposed to brake with four fingers, but on the racetrack I only use two! I had to really focus on doing it exactly by the book, otherwise they’d fail you outright.” The good news: Noderer cleared all the hurdles and passed.

BMW has provided him with an S 1000 RR, which he can use both for training and for personal use. “It’s a beast on the road. The great thing is that it’s relatively easy to switch from street use to track use,” says Noderer.

The Bavarian from Thalmässing also feels ready for the IDM. “I’m in good physical shape and have been training a lot. I often go jogging in the mornings. Unfortunately, we’ve only had a few productive days on the track with the motorcycle. It was five degrees in Brno. Last Tuesday at Hockenheim, I could only do ten laps because the track was so wet. We’ll have to see in the first two races if we can still make progress there.”
