There are only three months left until the International German Motorcycle Championship (IDM) kicks off its 2022 season on May 6 at the Lausitzring. Starting now, all participants can register for the IDM classes Superbike, Supersport, Supersport 300, and Sidecar on the official IDM website at www.idm.de/dokumente register. The same applies to the Pro Superstock, Twin Cup, and Yamaha R3 bLU cRU Cup classes, as well as the IDM rounds of the Northern Talent Cup and Austrian Junior Cup.

To participate in the races of the 2022 season, you must hold an internationally valid license from the DMSB (Deutscher Motor Sport Bund e.V.) or an internationally valid license issued by your home federation, as well as a foreign racing permit.

Over the past five years, the IDM has once again grown into an internationally recognized racing series whose appeal extends far beyond Europe’s borders. Last season, riders from ten nations competed in the premier class, the IDM Superbike. In the IDM Supersport 300, they came from as many as twelve countries. Many teams and riders have already announced their participation for 2022. “I expect the starting grid to grow once again,” says IDM Series Manager Normann Broy. With the announced top-tier riders and some talents surely still waiting in the wings, the upcoming season looks promising. Motor Presse Stuttgart has elevated the IDM to a whole new level of competition.

For riders like Markus Reiterberger, Jonas Folger, Marcel Schrötter, and Jack Miller, the IDM served as a springboard to internationally successful careers and paved the way for them to compete on the world stage. Some of them even returned to the series later on because it offers the ideal environment for well-rounded training at the international level.

Patrick Hobelsberger and Lennox Lehmann, who secured the titles in the IDM Supersport 600 and IDM Supersport 300 classes, are the current World Championship contenders in their respective categories. The IDM promises plenty of exciting races and thrilling title battles once again for the 2022 season
