With another victory in the IDM Supersport 600, Patrick “Pax” Hobelsberger has built up a solid points lead at the top of the championship standings.

Max Enderlein (M32 Racing Team) almost caught Patrick Hobelsberger (Bonovo action by MGM Racing), but only almost. As in the first race, he had to settle for second place. However, that result gave him a big boost up the standings. Kevin Wahr (MVR Racing) finished third. The IDM returnee, who has taken over Marc Buchner’s Yamaha until the end of the season, said: “After my long break, the weekend wasn’t exactly a walk in the park…” The Nagold native dedicated the trophy to his team, which had worked around the clock for him.

In the second race, everything went Pax’s way, but not for his closest title rival, Valentin Debise (Kawasaki Weber-Motos Racing). The Frenchman was also on the starting grid in Schleiz for both the IDM Superbike and IDM Supersport 600 classes. This pushed him to his physical limits. Although the Schleizer Dreieck was on his race calendar, he didn’t realize that the natural race track had little in common with the rest of the events on his schedule. Most riders had taped their hands to cushion them for the rough sections. Debise still managed to finish fifth in the second race under the scorching sun. However, this set him back in the title race. Pax also benefited from Martin Vugrinec’s (ferQuest Unior Racing) crash and Rob Hartog’s (Füsport-RT Motorsports by SKM-Kawasaki) seventh-place finish.

For the many spectators on the field and in the stands, what local rider Christoph Beinlich did was particularly noteworthy. The Pößnecker native made a name for himself by finishing in fourth place. Just three more laps, and he could have taken third place, as Beinlich had already closed in on Kevin Wahr after 15 laps—a total of 57.075 kilometers.
Although Beinlich finished fourth and didn't win a trophy, it was his best result of the season so far.
