With the cancellation of the 35th International ADAC Truck Grand Prix, which was scheduled to take place at the Nürburgring from July 17–19, 2020, the coronavirus pandemic has now affected yet another major event. Following its debut a year ago, thousands of fans had also been hoping to see the IDM Superbike 1000 compete as part of this event. Germany’s top class in road motorcycle racing was set to be a very special highlight once again during the race days.
However, the ADAC Mittelrhein e.V.’s largest event has been canceled. Due to the ban on large-scale events imposed by the federal government through August 31, 2020, it is not possible to hold the International ADAC Truck Grand Prix this year.
“Canceling this year’s International ADAC Truck Grand Prix was a difficult but unavoidable decision for us. We are aware of our responsibility as organizers, especially toward our many visitors, and of course we fully understand the measures taken by the federal government for the good of everyone,” said Dr. Klaus Manns, Chairman of ADAC Mittelrhein e.V.
The organizer hopes for the fans’ understanding and is also announcing the date for 2021. Next year, the Truck GP will take place from July 16 to 18.
Tickets already purchased for the 35th International ADAC Truck Grand Prix will remain valid for the new date next year. In general, tickets purchased through the official ADAC Truck Grand Prix shop can be returned without cancellation fees. Customers who purchased their tickets through another retailer should contact that retailer directly.
