Although the finish was the same as in the first race, the second sidecar race was incredibly exciting. Tim Reeves and Mark Wilkes (Adolf RS 1 Yamaha) once again took the win in the 600 ccm class, ahead of Josef Sattler and Uwe Neubert, as well as Jakob Rutz and Björn Bosch (LCR F1 Yamaha).

Josef Sattler and Uwe Neubert got off to a good start, but then Patrick Baer’s sidecar spun out and tipped over. Sattler had to stop abruptly. All the competitors Sattler had previously passed now pulled ahead of him again. “We only left Peter Schröder alone. We didn’t want to mess with him, and he’s none of our business in the 1000 cc class anyway,” said 600 cc rider Sattler cheerfully.

There are already some interesting plans for 2020. The travel company Berlin-Express, now renamed Bonovo Express, will be the sponsor not only of Reeves/Wilkes but also of Sattler/Neubert next year. “We want to form a partnership with both teams in the IDM and the World Championship. In addition, we’ll bring a rookie team on board or support teams via wildcard,” explains Jürgen Röder, who owns 90 percent of Bonovo Express. The businessman is thinking ahead. “We’re considering offering special trips to all IDM and World Championship races.”

In the 1000 ccm class, the new championship leaders, Mike Roscher and Anna Burkard (LCR F1 BMW), claimed their sixth victory of the season in the second sidecar race of the weekend. It was their fifth consecutive win. Scott Lawrie and Emanuelle Clement (LCR F1 Suzuki) finished second ahead of Andres Nussbaum and Manuel Hirschi (LCR F1 Suzuki). The Swiss duo had led the overall standings until Most, but were overtaken by Roscher and Burkard in the first race on Saturday.
