A wave of green at Kawasaki. Three junior riders on the Ninja 400 are really making headway with Team Nutec-RT Motorsports by SKM-Kawasaki : Troy Beinlich, Micky Winkler, and Colin Velthuizen.
Frank Krekeler (SKM Motors) and Rob Vennegoor (RT Motorsports), in cooperation with Kawasaki Germany , have put together a rock-solid junior program. The three junior riders will be prepared for the World Championship as part of the official importer team in the IDM Supersport class. If they achieve the necessary results, their first appearance could come as early as the end of the 2019 season. Wildcards are on the horizon.
Troy Beinlich is 16 years old, comes from Pößneck in Thuringia, and finished seventh in the IDM 300cc class last season. He rode the Kawasaki Ninja 400 for the second half of the season. Micky Winkler is 17 years old and lives in the racing town of Schleiz. The high school student finished sixth overall in the IDM Supersport with just one more championship point to his credit and secured a podium finish at the Hockenheim finale by placing second in the first race. He is switching from Yamaha to the “Greens.” The third member of the trio, Colin Velthuizen, is a 15-year-old Dutchman. The IDM is new territory for him, but he’s had racing in his blood for a long time. Velthuizen raced in the Honda NSF 100 Cup in 2015 and most recently in the European Talent Cup as part of the Moto3 Junior World Championship.
