It’s official: Max Enderlein is the 2018 IDM Champion. The title was decided in a dramatic race in the Supersport .
Daniel Rubin, who had moved into the title race with a one-two finish at Assen, initially took the lead, but the second lap proved to be his undoing. He ended up in the gravel trap alongside Vasco van der Valk . On the third lap, Kevin Wahr and Marc Buchner collided at the front. All of this played right into Max Enderlein’s hands. The Saxon, still hampered by his broken collarbone, had started from seventh on the grid and, after his zero-point round at Assen, held only a twelve-point lead in the overall standings. His massive lead had shrunk, and he was starting to feel the pressure. But not after the third lap. Enderlein had moved up to fifth place. None of the competitors ahead of him were in contention for the title.

In the eleventh lap, Daniel Rubin rejoined the race and even managed to climb up to 14th place. In the final standings, the finish was a perfect result for Enderlein: Daniel Rubin’s brother Dominik won the race ahead of Patrick Hobelsberger and Sander Kroeze. Max Enderlein finished fourth but was classified third because Hobelsberger, as a guest rider, was not included in the standings. After much calculation, it was determined that Max Enderlein of the Freudenberg Team is the 2018 IDM Supersport Champion.
