For no fewer than 14 years, MGM Racing had a top rider competing in the premier class at every event. That was no longer the case at Zolder. Team boss Michael Galinski arrived with his Yamaha crew and minimal equipment. He says: “Yamaha no longer cares about the national sport; support has been completely withdrawn.” Dutch rider Danny de Boer had left the team after the season opener. Lorenzo Lanzi competed in the next two races, immediately securing a podium finish for the team. However, the Italian was unable to race at Zolder due to scheduling conflicts.

Thus, Bobby Bos, who has been supported by MGM Racing since 2018, faced the daunting task of flying the MGM flag alone in the Superbike class. The Dutchman didn’t hold back and made it clear right from the start that he was among the top ten in the IDM Superbike 1000 He finished 12th in the first race and came in seventh in the second race. He even moved up one spot on the final lap. It was Bobby Bos’s best result of the season so far. He aims to top it in two weeks at the Schleizer Dreieck. Will there be another podium contender on an MGM Superbike in Schleiz? No information is available. The second youngest member of the MGM team Sander Kroeze already made it onto the podium at Zolder. The 16-year-old Dutchman finished third in the IDM Supersport 600.
